I took this project as a favor to a dear friend and because I had studied in Italy and had seen similar, but modern, versions. The old finishes had been severely damaged and had largely delaminated over 30 percent due to humidity changes, including almost an entire drawer front. The age and beauty of this piece was still evident and was restored to save the look and feel of an obviously old finish. The area's restored are virtually indistinguishable from the original.
